Chocolate is not just for Easter, it's for life

You’re not eating it but you are smothering yourself in it. You will smell and look delicious and most importantly you know you’re putting 100% Natural products on your skin. We do not make anything that isn’t 100% Natural so everything we have selected has come from a plant, nut, seed, flower or vegetable with a big help from our beautiful (and locally based) bees.

The Balm Boutique Mocha Body PolishOur Body Polish contains 3 main ingredients, finely milled Raw Cane Sugar, Manuka Honey and Coconut Oil. To be blunt if it's good enough to eat, you can imagine it's good enough to put on your skin but here’s the beauty blurb on why.

Sugar is a natural humectant, meaning it draws moisture from the environment into the skin and the sugar's small      particles makes it an excellent topical exfoliant which reveals  glowing, healthy-looking skin underneath. The sugar is finely milled so there are no sharp edges to damage your skin.

The hysteria about Coconut Oil for skincare is well and truly justified with the combination of its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-bacterial and hydrating properties make it a fabulous skin rejuvenator.

Sweet Almond Oil is an excellent emollient (skin softener) and is known for its ability to soften and re-condition the skin. It is rich in proteins and Vitamin D, and is considered extremely nourishing.

Manuka Honey balances the skin’s pH and contains amino acids which slough away dead skin cells, helping to keep your pores clear.  A natural antimicrobial, the power of honey to promote healthy skin is well documented.

Ground Arabica Coffee for tightening up the skin. Whilst there is no magic cure all for cellulite. Sorry! Coffee does have a damn good try! The caffeine and antioxidants in coffee are pretty effective at mitigating the appearance of cellulite but only in the short term. As a stimulant, the caffeine in coffee dilates blood vessels, which temporarily tones and tightens tissue. Plus it increases circulation and reduces water retention, both of which may also help smooth the rumpled look of cellulite. The antioxidants in coffee also help to release toxins, which is not only helpful for cellulite, but for healthy skin in general.

Triple Chocolate of Cacao Powder & Coarse Ground Cocoa Shells & Organic 73% Dark Chocolate. Cocoa is packed full of antioxidants that assist in the repair of skin cells. Dark chocolate makes an excellent skin-detoxifier especially in combination with caffeine. It sloughs off the dead skin cells and allows the newly exposed, fresh skin to breathe freely.

The Balm Boutique Chocolate Body Butter

Beeswax  is an indispensable ingredient in our butter bar because of its ability to moisturise and condition the skin. Beeswax also has a number of other benefits for the skin, including an anti-inflammatory and anti- bacterial action that helps to calm and soothe. It's a humectant which means it draws moisture in which means it keeps your skin smooth and protected.

Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter & Black Cocoa Butter possess amazing benefits for the skin. Shea Butter contains Vitamins A, E and F in abundance. These are particularly helpful for damaged skin either by sun or general pollution. Vitamin F is uniquely found in high quantities and it is Vitamin F which is an effective rejuvenator for the skin. Cocoa Butter is rich in anti-oxidants and contains the ability to promote skin elasticity, lock in vital moisture and protect the skin. Black Cocoa Butter is all that and it has an amazing chocolatey look and aroma and gives a wondrous velvety smoothness to our bar.

Ecosilk is a vegetable based emollient derived from coconut and sugar. A wonderful natural alternative to silicone. It has a stunning effect on your skin giving it a glossy glow and makes your skin feel like velvet!

Vanilla Oil & Madagascan Vanilla Seeds - Vanilla has rich anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties making it an excellent addition to any skincare products as well as giving a luscious caramel sweet aroma to our bar. The vanilla seeds add additional fragrance and texture.

Jojoba Wax is naturally derived from jojoba seeds and is packed with beneficial fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. It’s biodegradable and gentle, making it not only an excellent cosmetic ingredient for skin care, but can be used equally on sensitive, mature and problem skin. Jojoba oil contains vitamin E, B-complex vitamins and the minerals silicon, chromium, copper and zinc, making it incredibly nourishing and beneficial for all skin types.

The Balm Boutique Chocolate Lip Balm SelectionOur Chocolate Lip Tints and Lip Gloss have most of the same amazing ingredients as our Butters Bars such as Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Sweet Almond Oil and Cocoa Butter but also these beautiful botanical oils. You can see why we chose them:

Limeseed Oil is rich in fatty acids providing moisture to the skin and improved barrier function making it perfect for protecting your lips;

Meadowfoam Seed Oil which contains over 98% long-chain fatty acids, which means it has an amazing moisturising and rejuvenating action on the skin; and

Castor Oil which softens and soothes dry and damaged skin and provides a protective barrier for the skin. It also adds the glossiness to our lip balms.

So, what do you think? Are you convinced that Chocolate is definitely a lifetime commitment not just an Easter treat ;-)
